Порт. Международный аэропорт [Bangor International Airport] на территории бывшей базы ВВС США [Dow Air Force Base]. Основан в 1769 под названием Санбери [Sunbury] на месте плантации Кедаскиг [Kenduskeag Plantation], статус города с 1834. Во время англо-американской войны [ War of 1812] был оккупирован британскими войсками. В XIX в. - крупный центр судостроения, порт.
